Hello, my name is Kosaki and I am a physical therapist at FuncPhysio Physical Therapy.
It has been about two months since the FuncPhysio running club was launched, and the number of members has grown to more than 35. In this issue, I would like to report on our activities over the past two months and the results of my own running races.
Morning Group Running
Until January of this year, we have been running early in the morning every Friday only.
The start time is 7:50 am. Since it is early in the morning on a weekday, there are about five participants each time.
I was so impressed that the participants who gather early in the morning, sometimes below freezing!
In February, we added a Sunday morning run at 9:00 am. In February, we added a Sunday morning run at 9:00 a.m. The first time, a whopping 10 members joined us! Look at this blue sky! I think it is easier to take a step forward when you run with others, even if it is difficult to take a step forward when running alone. Let’s continue to gather more and more people and enjoy running together!

Marathon Race: Kosaki PT
Two months after I started training personally, I participated in my first half marathon and 10k marathon race!
This is the first NY race this year, and the leader of the FuncPhysio running club hit the ground running!
The results were half 1:29:00, 10km 0:39:40, which were under 1.5 hours and 40 minutes respectively, achieving my personal goals! My 10km record was the best in Japan! Pulled by the fast people around me, I managed to achieve under 40 minutes at a very fast pace. There were people much faster than me in the half marathon, so I will continue to train to become a top Japanese runner. Let’s train together, everyone! Don’t worry beginners, I don’t run this fast-during group running!
FuncPhysio running club Details
Currently, we have 35 members in the LINE group for Japanese and 5 members in the Instagram group for English speakers. We aim to continue to have fun and get healthy together. If you are concerned about your running form, please contact us and we will give you advice. If you have any pain or discomfort in your body, we will guide you to treatment.
