Integrating Japanese Eastern medicine with Western medicine.

One of our clients felt discomfort on top of the right shoulder every time he did a shoulder press.

We assessed and recorded his movement, and something caught our eyes. 👀

His right shoulder blade had limited upward rotation & protraction,

and when lowering the weights, it dropped back too fast without control.

This disrupted the natural scapulohumeral rhythm.

What is “Scapulohumeral Rhythm?”

It means how your shoulder blade (scapula) & upper arm (humerus) move together when you lift your arm.

💡 For every 2° the arm moves, the scapula moves about 1°.

When this rhythm is off:
⚠️The shoulder blade moves too little, too much, or at the wrong time
⚠️The shoulder joint takes too much load
⚠️Pain or impingement can show up

✨ A smooth rhythm means your shoulder and scapula share the work, so movement feels stable, strong, and pain-free.

When that rhythm is off, the shoulder joint has to work too hard alone.

From the two videos on the right, you can see that when he lifts both arms — whether from the front or from the side — the right shoulder blade moves more slowly and less than the left.

As a result, abnormal stress occurs at his shoulder joint, leading to discomfort.

So instead of treating just the sore spot, we looked deeper:👇
✅ observed the movement
✅ tested which muscles were “offline”
✅ identified which ones were overworked or too tight

We observed → tested → confirmed
Through hands-on release of tight or restricted tissues,
and movement training to re-activate the right muscles,
his shoulder press became smooth and pain-free again 💪
