Rehabilitation Ultrasound Imaging (RUSI)
Many people find it hard to know if they’re really using the right deep core muscles during training since they can’t “feel” it the way a therapist’s hands can.
That’s why ultrasound imaging is such a powerful tool:
it gives you real-time visual feedback, so you can actually see your muscles working.
Especially for the deep pelvic floor muscles, RUSI gives therapists a better way to guide and strengthen your training.
Here are three example clips we can visualize with RUSI:
1. Transverse Abdominal Muscles
Watch your deep core activate in real time.
2. Bladder Wall Movement (Transverse View)
See how your pelvic floor muscles contract and relax.
3. Transperineal Imaging (Sagittal View)
Assess the movement of the pelvic floor, bladder neck, urethra, and rectum during contraction, relaxation, and straining.
This direct feedback helps patients understand and correct how they use their deep stabilizers, making training more precise and effective😀
